I have installed to try and track down some SERIOUS CPU issues on SiteGround that appear to be coming from bots.

I installed and excluded ?blackhole from the dynamic cache and it is showing on tests it is not cached.

I am not able to see the warning message when I hit the URL in the source of the page like the testing page talks about. I’m hoping this will and the BBQ plugin can mitigate the CPU issues I am seeing.

    Any help would be great.

Yes of course, glad to help. It sounds like an incompatible cache plugin. Here is a list of known compatible and incompatible cache plugins. Note that the article is aimed at Pro users, but the same infos apply to Blackhole free version as well.

Thanks Jeff, yes I read that and I am using SiteGround which is listed to work and I even excluded from the dynamic cache.

I guess when you list Disable Page Cache feature under siteground, that is not an option it’s Static, Dynamic (so maybe static?)

Also this goes through cloudflare and that is not listed but saw another question about that

I also disabled the plugin for SG completely and added a page rule in cloudflare to never cache https://www.chriscolotti.us/?blackhole*

Still does not show the warning in an incognito window ??

Something may have changed on Siteground. Unfortunately I do not have a SG account, so have to rely on community for feedback, etc.

If it helps, this is the first of I’ve heard of SG not working.. and there are quite a few folks using the service. If there is any infos I can provide, just let me know.

I sympathize.. have had many, many such weeks over the past 15 years..

But things always work out, one way or another.

Hey I hope you got this sorted. It’s been a few days on this thread, so I’ll assume the best and mark this ticket as “resolved” to help keep things organized. Feel free to post again if there is anything I can do to help. Thank you.
