Testing Prior to Uploading

  • I’m having a problem with testing my sites prior to uploading. Basically, I test it on the latest IE and Firefox browsers prior to uploading using Xampplite; when I upload them, something goes wrong.

    So, how can avoid this and make sure that what I see prior to uploading a new theme is what I see post uploading a new theme? If that makes sense…

  • Are you using the same database? Sometimes post content can break a theme, such as images too wide, long links, etc.

    Otherwise, the themes should render the same on a local install as it does on a external server.

    Is your host or server appending data to it?

    See, that’s what I thought miklb, but apparently what I see on my end is not what ends up. I’m not using any images or post content that causes problems. I was thinking that maybe I wasn’t doing something correctly locally and that’s why I was having problems.

    Ajd777, do you think you could explain more? I’m not completely sure what that means.
