Testing Jetpack subscriptions on a staging site

I have recently become webmaster on a WordPress-based site that uses Jetpack newsletter subscriptions to send notification of new blog posts. There is already a staging site, created using Installtron on our hosting provider.

I would like to test notifications of new blog posts, to see whether a) it works at all, and b) what is the list of email addresses the notifications would be sent to. But I don’t want to send real emails to the 300 or so subscribers!

Is it possible to put Jetpack or our WordPress connection into a mode where notification emails would not actually be sent, but would be logged somewhere? I have achieved this with email generated on our site using the Disable Emails plugin.
