testing a theme

  • hey folks,

    sorry for the newby question, but is there a way to test a theme, with all the content, on wp without disrupting the current theme?

  • You can use the ‘Live Preview’ function in the Appearance Theme to see what a theme looks like before activating.

    Not sure what you mean by “disrupting” the current theme, but you can always switch to a different theme for as long or as short a time as you want, play around with the theme’s settings, then switch back to the original theme without anything changing (unless, of course, you make changes like adding or editing posts or pages while your test theme is active). All themes should save their options independent of other theme options.
