testing a payment

I downloaded the plugin and it’s great so far as far as settings go, and i figured out how to manually type the shortcode using the button IDs. But when i put it into the page and did a test payment with the Stripe test card numbers, it gives me an error (Your card was declined. the request was in live mode but you used a test card). Also, is there a way to limit the subscription length thru the shortcode? Thanks!
