Tested, Broke, Tested, Working!!
-
I created a website devoted to the education of the future Wildland Fire fighters, specifically for those that operate Engines, and further to help train Engine Operators to be the best they can be in a job that will give them the title “Engineer”. So I also desired to create lessons and then tests. I found this plugin Quiz Maker, I had some problems with the plugin early on.
Not because the plugin would not work, rather with the documentation on how to “completely” set it up properly. The user manual to be honest leaves allot to be desired in the sense that it is nowhere near descriptive enough on all the nuances of how to setup the plugin, what order to create your questions, categories, etc. or if there is even a requirement of such.
Once aspect for example is there is a term called published and unpublished. but there is nothing anywhere in the manual to describe what either of these mean or do. (to someone that’s been out of the net world almost 30 years)
The User manual is very poorly written. HOWEVER, the email support is as others have commented, superb!. The learning curve is a bit of a problem if you’ve been out of the internet world as I have, (Since the 90’s) and just getting back in. New terms, nothing makes sense as it used to, etc. etc.
There was one girl named Monica with AYS that really helped out quite a bit in setting this up and when I was having issues with the plugin not emailing the Certificate, or the test results the plugin was supposed to, they told me to double check the SMTP settings and that with other plugins some could cause a conflict. I was in fact using an incorrect port number in the settings and in the other, my email issue was not 100% completely setup as I thought it was. changed that and now everything works.
I will tell you this, the documentation is flawed and to use Americanized terms, just plain sucks in terms of its “completeness”. The plugin, however, “works” as they said it would and the support staff are there to help and they DO. I will continue to use this plugin and despite the troubles I’ve had, yes I would still recommend it and for me I’m keeping it.
