    Hi there,

we git the Link Directory from a designer included in our new website. Looks nice btw. The designer used another linkstrukture of his programming area as we did. As we are still in test-mode we have uploaded all details to our webspace but the link directory is the only thing not working correctly. The Plugin is still using the Domain of the designer instead of our domain… Where can/need we change the URL so that it will work properly?

    Hi Leo,

    Thanks!

Not sure I got the full picture. SLD works with Shortcode – so any WordPress page or Post where you placed the shortcode will load the directory. As that page/post is just normal WP page – it should not have a problem.

On the other hand, if you used SLD for linking to internal pages of your own website as opposed to external links like google.com you will need to replace the links throughout the database as the SLD data is saved as the meta data of a custom post type. We would recommend a script called Database Search and Replace Script in PHP for that. Just search in the google.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks

Maybe i was not specific enough, sorry! So i try again ??
The first test installation was made on the server of the designer, lets say the domain was https://domain.designerwebsite.com then after all was working we have installed all to our server in a test area to replace grafics etc for our website before it goes live. Lets say https://test.ourdomainname.com . So two different damains used for testing. No problem so far but if we try to use the dashboard and Add Link from Front End, the SDL still uses the first Domain name for the internal links to the files, not the second domain name. In Links, SDL still uses https://domain.designerwebsite.com/sdl-dashboard instead of https://test.ourdomainname.com/sdl-dashboard Even if all was set up correctly in the WP installation of our server and in the SDL Admin he shows the correct links…. Is there any Database Entry etc. (where the domain is hard coded) in SDL which we could check for that issue?

    No worries.

    1. The domain is not hard coded anywhere. All links and settings are saved in the database.
    2. Any time you change the domain name, it is best practice to do a Search and Replace of the domain name throughout the database.
    3. If you have any caching plugin – try purging the caches
    4. If you have done no. 2 and 3 already – try going to the Settings->Permalinks and save permalinks again without changing anything

If you are using the pro version, please open a support ticket from https://qc.ticksy.com

    Thanks!
