Hi, since there isn’t an actual transactions page in Stripe Express, I can’t tell if my test payments are getting logged. Was I supposed to create a separate account for my sandbox (by using a different email address)? I don’t want to get a tax document that says I earned more than I actually did.

The reason I ask is that the notifications bell in the corner has a list of notifications for payments I received from recurring subscription test orders I set up. (And I know it’s from the test since I didn’t have any payments coming through Woocommerce Payments during that time.)

    Here’s a screenshot.

I know it’s been several months but I haven’t needed to mess around in Stripe Express until recently. (Not that there’s much you can do in it.)

Is it supposed to be doing this?

  • Hi,

To clarify, the WooCommerce Payments test mode is to simulate transactions. You can learn more on our documentation:
    https://woocommerce.com/document/payments/#test-mode

Regarding the screenshot attached, can you please send it again? I was unable to open it ?? To send it, you can use https://snipboard.io.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply, Igor.

I know it’s supposed to simulate transactions but these amounts were apparently sent to Stripe Express? I didn’t receive any actual payouts into my bank account but was this recorded by Stripe?

    Hi there,

In your WordPress admin dashboard, can you please navigate to Payments> deposits and check if you have this message at the top?

    https://d.pr/i/iO7UvS

If you do, it means the test mode is enabled.

All transactions and deposits are only simulated.

If you still need help, please open a support ticket by going to https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/ and include a copy of your System Status report so we can better understand the site.

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in your response.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

Hi, I got the tax form from Stripe today and I’m happy to report it didn’t include the amounts that were shown on the Stripe Express notifications.

That is still scary though. Since you can’t see what is coming in when using Stripe Express if you check on the account in there, I’m worried to test anything on my sandbox site. I’ll let you know if I see the problem again but it gave me a heart attack!

    Hi,

    Thanks for responding.

Please note, the test or sandbox mode is created to do not affect the live mode. If you need further assistance, feel free to create a ticket with us as mentioned previously on this thread.

    Best.
