I’ve installed Post SMTP and set it up correctly as far as I know. It uses OAuth 2.0 to send the test mail, which I receive. The mail I receive is all correct, spf and dkim all pass because that’s already set up on the domain.

I have a contact form using Contact Form 7, and when I submit a message, I just get “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.”. When I check the Post SMTP logs, there’s nothing in there for the time I submitted the form. I’ve tried a number of times with no luck. How do I check it’s using Post SMTP to post the message? What else can I check?

Note that the “site e-mail address” as defined in Settings > General is different to the one that Post SMTP uses. Does it need to be the same? The email address I’ve used in Post SMTP settings is the same Google account that the OAuth creds are from.

  • Hi,

Please paste the diagnostic test here.

I think I’m closer to the issue than earlier. I’ve found that I get the issue only when I use a particular theme, and I think it’s because it’s not loading the javascript for recaptcha in the footer properly. If I use the WPTouch Mobile theme, it works just fine, and if I use the Health Check plugin, mails also get sent, so it’s not an issue with Post SMTP.

    Thanks anyway!

    Good luck!
