• I have a membership site and simply wanted to find out how to best set up the plugin so that restricted member images do not show up in the search results, while free images show up as normal. This is an SEO related plugin and I was told it could help me achieve this.

    I couldn’t figure out how to do this myself so I tried reaching out to support but you need to pay to even get a response. I didn’t mind so I ended up paying for premium (basically £100 inc tax) and, after excessive wait times, I was simply referred to other websites and articles that did not even address my issue.

    The “support” is honestly some of the worst I’ve come across for such a popular plugin, I guess due to volume. Either way, If you are thinking of using the plugin but know you will need support, think twice.

    We see that you expected your question to be answered by our team. We’d like to clarify that premium support covers questions and doubts about the installation, use and features and settings of the plugin. Unfortunately, Yoast SEO doesn’t have any settings to prevent your images from being indexed so your support request was a bit outside the scope of premium support. That said, our support team referred you to other resources that explained how to block search engines from indexing your images.

    On the other hand, we reviewed the emails exchanged with our team and observed that you always got a response within 24 hours. We do agree though that we could improve our response times, that’s why we are always working on improving the speed and quality of our support.

    Lastly, we’d like to apologize for any confusion this has caused as we should have mentioned at the beginning that what you weren’t trying to do couldn’t be achieved using Yoast SEO.
