• <p>I’ve been using the Forminator Product for over a year. I am a paid user. We have over 50 forms on our site with numerous integrations and functions that the forms serve. For EVERY update provided by WPMUDEV, something breaks and a support ticket is required which inevitably results in an MU-PLUGIN or development having to fix and release a patch. We are working to transition to another product that won’t cost us thousands of dollars in lost revenue for every single update. If you use this for a contact form, it may work fine. If you use it for anything more than that, steer clear.</p>
<p>Update: 09/07/2022 – The latest update once again broke forms. This time, it is related to password verification on the forms. We have nearly 1,000 form submissions every month. Every Forminator update breaks the site. Maybe they can hire quality developers sometime soon.</p>
<p>Update: 09/08/2022 – At the request of support, I reverted the update to the previous version. That broke ALL of my Zapier integrations. What kind of sucky company is this?</p>
<p>Update: 01/04/2023 – Version 1.22.1 broke the web hooks. Apparently, web hooks are customized code and using a field from Forminator to send to Zapier is too much to ask. I will give it to them that they are consistent for every update breaking some key feature. Well done.</p>

    Hi @techmgmt

We apologize for the inconvenience. I can assure you this is something we will further discuss internally with the Forminator team, as well as QA, to minimize such occurrences.

Also, with too complex integrations or complex scenarios in forms, we would strongly advise all members, including those free ones, to use staging for performing updates and making sure that everything works properly before performing updates on your live websites. It’s more of a standard practice anyway, something we do ourselves as well on our website, and generally with more complex projects where things could easily go south.

I have also pinged our Account Team and we will email you shortly.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris

Thanks for the follow-up. If only the issues could be caught, or even resolved, just by using a staging server (which we do). When fundamentally code changes the way forms process, some of those changes, especially if not part of your changelogs, would be nearly impossible to determine until they are in production. Case in point, Zapier integrations are turned off on staging. Form submits fine, submission details look normal. On production, it was determined that the information Forminator sends to a webhook completely changed. File type fields (application/pdf for instance) were completely removed from the hook. That is one of many examples, but I will include those in the separate email.

    Hi @techmgmt

Thank you for the information and feedback, our developers always work hard to reduce issues on the plugins code, Forminator is one of the plugins that is receiving important updates and code refactoring which will help to speed up the development and issue resolution time.

    Best Regards

Update 09/07/2022 – Latest Update 1.18 broke the site yet again. 100% chance of an update breaking at least one form in every update for the past year. Is the QA department on holiday permantently?

    Hello @techmgmt

I’m really sorry for any frustration this caused to you. I can see that you also opened a ticket on our website forums and one issue is fully replicable and reported to our developers to fix in an upcoming release, your feedback is still needed there though, so please do follow up to sort these as soon as possible.

    Thank you,
    Dimitris
