Can’t believe they are telling people to upgrade and that they are sunsetting the previous plugin before they have this one sorted.

Had issues with customers getting auth failures but Paypal processing the order. So ended up taking the money twice from customers which stuffs with inventory plus manual overheads to refund payments and cancel duplicate orders.

    Hi @bencalder,

    Apologies for the trouble.
Double charges could potentially happen as a result of the user submitting the order multiple times. This usually shouldn’t be possible but we can’t rule it out and would like to look into this for you.
You can reach our support from the support forums, or from our own support system if you’d like to share more details about this privately with us.

    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi Niklas,

In this instance was definitely the plugin. The issue happened after I upgraded and stopped when I went back to the other plugin.

I also had multiple customers over a few days and it was isolated only to Paypal orders.

For the moment I might just keep an eye on the development and see how it goes. It feels a long way away from being a stable release though based on the reviews and my experience.

    Cheers,
    Ben

    Hi @bencalder,

There is currently one known issue with a specific checkout configuration that could potentially result in the user submitting the same order twice. Though I haven’t seen this causing actual double charges yet.
But without access to more details like log files for example it’s difficult to judge what happened exactly.

We do appreciate the feedback and suggestions we are receiving and want to help out as best as we can. As mentioned above, if you would like us to investigate deeper, we would be happy to do so. Maybe it can help prevent similar issues from happening to someone else.

But in any case, you can follow the development best from our GitHub repo: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments
Questions beyond that are best directed to the plugin support forum linked above.

    Thank you so much!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
