Term name breadcrumb incorrect

    Hi,

    I’m running into a a strange issue where the title of a custom taxonomy / term is displayed incorrect in the breadcrumb trail.

    This only happens for one specific site in the network (I’m using a multisite setup) while the configuration for the breadcrubs is equal for all sites in the network.

    When editing the taxonomy Yoast shows the correct term title, it also shows the correct term title as the page title but only the breadcrumb title is incorrect and shows the English version. The link to the taxonomy page is also correct in the breadcrumb trail, it’s only the term name.

    I know that I can manually override the breadcrumb name in the Yoast settings when editing the taxonomy but when saving the taxonomy the manual setting for the breadcrumb is not saved….

    I’m using the latest version of Yoast SEO, 15.9.2

    I have just reported a similar issue. It happens with WP 5.7. Downgraded to 5.6.2 and it fixed that. Waiting a reply from yoast support

    We understand the breadcrumb item in the pathway is not correct when using a custom taxonomy. We would like some more information.

    1. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    2. Are you using a multilingual plugin on the site like WPML or Polylang or some other plugin?

    3. Can you provide a link to the page in question or take a screenshot of the issue? You can use a tool like: https://imgbb.com/ to share the image.

    4. What is the expected breadcrumb pathway you want Yoast to show?

    Thanks for your reply. To answer all your questions:

    1. Yes, all plugins are updated except WordPress which is 5.6.2. The theme is a custom one
    2. We’re using MultilingualPress for translating the content

    4. Breadcrumbs pathway should be: Home, CPT archive, taxonomy, CPT title. In this case the full breadcrumb path should be: Home -> Gewassen – > Groenten -> Kasgroenten. See also the screenshot with a breadcrumb of the taxonomy page and the single CPT page

    Updated: also tesed with WP 5.7 but the issue is still there. However on the dev site which uses the same settings, the issue isn’t there and it shows the correct term title and I can also save the breadcrumb settings so I can override the breadcrumb title if needed. This is odd.

    Thanks for your clarification even though the issue you’re currently is very odd.

    This issue typically occurs when Yoast SEO has the old data in the Indexables tables and migrations. To clear the cache, you’ll need to reset the Yoast SEO Indexables tables and migrations by following the steps given below:

    • Install and activate Yoast Test Helper plugin;
    • Go to Tools → Yoast Test → Yoast SEO → Reset indexables tables & migrations options to reset it;
    • Run SEO data optimization from the SEO → Tools page.

    Let us know whether the issue persists after performing the above steps.

    Thanks for your rely. I followed the steps and after resetting the indexable tables the issue is resolved ??
