Temporarily disabling plugin permanently erases all settings
-
I disabled this plugin for a few minutes to troubleshoot a security issue. Not deleted, just disabled.
When I re-enabled it, it was fresh and new. Settings that had taken me 4 months to refine were gone.
I went into my backups and copied the old rules out of .htaccess from a few days ago. I looked at my current .htaccess, and sure enough, they’d been changed to the beginning defaults from when I first installed the plugin 4 months ago.
So I updated my .htaccess file with the rules again, restarted apache, and went back to the plugin page.
And my rules still aren’t there.I’m permanently removing this plugin since it is unreliable, and I can just write the rules in my .htacess manually and then don’t need to worry about them being deleted without me knowing about it, or about a plugin being unable to see that they’re there.
But this is very poor behavior by this plugin. You should never silently delete users’ settings.
