Templates/Blogging for Intel Mac users

  • Hi,

    I’m trying to get started in blogging.

    I already have an existing website in which I’d like to now instead use a download blog type template. What are the steps to open and install the contents of the zip file on a Mac?

    Secondly, can I just begin to add content to the template or do I need something like Adobe or Dreamweaver to proceed?

    your questions are odd and vague and make little sense. Can we try again? The web site in your profile tells me that you can do much better at explaining what youre needing help with.

    and before you type: having a template (THEME) doesnt allow you to blog. You need to install wordpress to blog. The template (THEME) only manages what your blog looks like.

    That ought to answer one of your questions ??

    Editing THEME files is best accomplished using a plain text editor, and NO, you dont need those other 2 applications you mention.

    Hi Whooami,

    Yeah, I must be careful before rushing to post and being excited about getting started.

    I understand things much better. Yes by template I meant Theme. Regarding the .zip file I was not sure if I should have unzipped it locally or if WordPress would somehow unzip it after I ftp the .zip to my server. Also I was not sure of how WordPress works and though I needed several other apps.

    Anywho, it’s making sense to me these days but I’m sure I’ll have more questions. I’ll post em’ when I have time to ask them properly. LOL!
