• I am brand new to WordPress. I have read most of the info and FAQs, however, I still have questions. These questions are related to a site I will be setting up for a client (who is not computer literate — she can use email).

The website will have about 15 static pages (About, testimonials, etc.). It will technically be a website with a Blog but a colleague suggested WordPress. Will www.remarpro.com work for that? Does WordPress.com work like that? Which do you suggest for a site like this? There will also be a page to buy a product.

Can I use my own template? If so, where does WordPress software and WordPress in general come into play?

After clicking Blog > Theme Directory, I couldn’t find all the thousands of Themes (are these templates we can use)?

Once I upload the blog to the host, will my client be able to post to the blog or will she need to download the software to her computer to post?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Sculley,

Yes, WP can handle that application.

I’d respectfully suggest that you take some time to read through some of the Getting Started documentation on this site as it will answer many, if not all, of your questions and help you get a better understanding of how WordPress operates.

There’s a metric ton of great info in the Codex (Docs).

There are also books available to help you out, if you learn better that way.
