    Hello,

I am just discovering the new Post Grid Combo and I have few questions:

    1) I see that some tabs I was used to using are now called with “Old”. Does that mean the old way to create grids is deprecated and is about to disappear in a future release?

    2) With the new way, with Gutenberg, how is it possible to create a single grid template that provides the same design for all grids on the website, and to use this template on various pages with different queries?

    3) If I understand clearly, with the new way, the page “All Page Grid” (/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=post_grid) is no more useful. Indeed, grids are built directly on website pages and are no longer imported with a shortcode. Is that right?

Thanks a lot for your work and to provide this very useful plugin

    N.

  • Hi @dagnic75,
    Thanks for your post.

    1. Right now, we don’t have a plan to remove the old option. However, in the near future, we’ll add an option to get permission from the user whether they want to use the old option or not. If they don’t want to use it, then we’ll simply hide them! Please note that all the previously created grids will not break, and there is no need to worry.
I strongly recommend using the Gutenberg block Since this is the future.

    2. Under Layouts, you can find many premade post layouts that you can use and preview with one click. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/pBkuN63.png
Also, you can modify these premade layouts to your needs. We have the plan to add thousands of premade layouts.
If you’re unsure how to customize or apply post layout, watch this tutorial video. Link – https://youtu.be/4rimFMt3Qwg
Caution: Sorry for my bad English and horrible quality microphone. Watch at your own risk.

After finalizing a Grid, you can copy the block and paste it anywhere or even on a new page. Then simply customize the Query Post option with your needs. Screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/2LHbmi1.png

    3. If I understand your question correctly, you’re concerned about the usage of the shortcode. As I said before, you can freely use the older method, and we don’t have a plan to remove the older functionality without the user’s permission.

Please ask if you face any issues.
    Regards.

    Hi

Thanks for your answer. I am now trying to use the new system with Gutenberg and I have a few questions/remarks.

    – It would be great to be able to select category name or id from the list of existing ones like it was possible in the old system (https://ibb.co/VTn3ZHf).

    – How can we tune the components inside the grid item, like it was possible before : media, post title, … (https://ibb.co/Xz8KJ9g)?

    Thanks
    N.

    Hi @dagnic75,
That’s a great feature request! Our team is currently working on advanced search input. After completing the task, we’ll push the update. Then you’ll able to fetch data on the fly.

The section under Grid we’re calling Post Layout.
We’ve many premade post Layouts that you can use. Also, you can customize or create from Scratch.

If you want to use it with customization, then import the layout first. Then Under Saved items, you can find the imported layout, and here you can find the edit option.

Here you can add or remove any components and customize.

    Hi?@dagnic75,
We haven’t heard from you for a long time, assuming you’ve resolved the issue.
