• I’m trying to learn to use templates in Elementor following the Udemy course “WordPress Front-end development with Elementor” (I have Pro) but the way Elementor is behaving, first of all doesn’t make any sense to me, second doesn’t match the course.

A simple example: when I go to the templates page on the dashboard and click “new template”, it goes to a page asking me what kind of template. I pick “section.”

On the course video, his version then goes to a blank canvas page. That makes complete sense. But for me, next it goes to the library. That doesn’t make sense. Why is it sending me to the library if I am creating a new template? Isn’t the library about existing or old templates?

Then if I close that library window, I see a regular wordpress page with my template name as the title. It’s not a blank page. Again, doesn’t make any sense to me. I also don’t see any sign that it’s a template. That’s another thing that doesn’t make sense, that there’s no way to tell if I’m editing a template versus something else.

So can someone please advise how to create a section template, and hopefully in a way that matches the course video.
