Template works funny with sidebar removed

Hi, I’m new to WordPress and am building my second site. I’ve learned how to insert a template into my theme. I created a theme with a side-bar. I then created a page with a single column and no side-bar. Where I’m running into trouble is that the column is setting to the left instead of being centered on the page. Any ideas?
