• Hello,

I have create an event for myself and saved it as a template in my Gutenberg block editor. Everything is fine.
When I create a new event and delete all the blocks in them to use my template, I have the problem when I would publish this event that I get a 404 error and the event is not public. Not even if I set it to private.
How can I solve this problem?

I have the plugin in the free version and not the pro version. I do not have the option to duplicate the event.

Furthermore, I am using the latest WordPress version.

I’ve today create a new event and have only copied the blocks who has nothing to do with the event blocks and i got the same error… page 404!
Why is this happend? When i create a event without any changes on the event block (not moving, not delete, etc ..), so only fill it with text, then i dont have the problem.

    Please help me.

    Hi @gurke258

Thanks for reaching out. Let me help you with this one.

To confirm, when you say “template” are you referring to the Block Patterns from the Block editor? If not, please provide a screenshot or screen recording of how we can replicate the issue on our side.

Moreover, please also try using only our plugins, Gutenberg, and default theme (2020 theme), and see if that makes a difference.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hello Darian,

yes i mean block pattern, but i attached you two screenshots.

I found a solution or i think its nearly a workaround.
When i use the template then i save the event, uncheck the Checkbox for Gutenberg in Settings and open the event again. Click on publish and save. Then check the heckbox for Gutenberg in Settings again and open the event. Now i can work with it and i can publish my “template”.

Maybe it helps you to found another solution.

    Hi @gurke258,

    Thanks for reaching out!

You might want to try out the following extension https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/event-block-patterns.

    Does it work for you?

    Best regards,
    Marta

    Hi @gurke258

Upon checking on this further, it seems we’re not fully compatible with block patterns with our latest plugins. But we have an existing internal ticket that will tackle this compatibility in the future.

Is there a specific plugin you’re using for your block patterns? Or you’re using the default block patterns from Gutenberg? I want to add these details to our internal ticket as well.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Thanks for your response.

I just added your case to our internal ticket. Unfortunately, we don’t have an estimated time for when the feature will be ready, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as a solution becomes available.
