Just downloaded the new wordpress. I updated a page and it reset the template on the page attributes to the default template and it no longer has my custom template. I have tried unactivating theme and reactivate it and still nothing.

  • Is your custom page template still in the drop down list?

Check that the template file for that page template is still in your theme’s directory and has a comment at the top like this:

/* Template Name: My Template */

Oh also, this could be the culprit here as mentioned in the 3.4 master list (which you should read):

Page templates: <?php /* Template Name: … on one line will not work in 3.4.

You need to move the start of the comment down a line after the <?php

That was it. Thank you for the fast response, appreciate it man.

My custom template wasn’t showing up in the drop down list. Changing the <?php /* Template Name to after the <?php did the trick.
