Using Advanced Views Lite v.3.4.8. getting a message Advanced Views (view_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) template:?Templates folder is not writable. This has started recently, but no changes have been made to the site. Looking inside on this particular view are two messages – one saying the template folder isn’t writeable (if you can give me the folder location on the server I can check/fix that) but also one that says Validation failed. 1 field requires attention, but all fields are OK.

You can see this at the above URL if you click the button marked +info. This is on a live site so fairly important I get a fix,.

Ok, just found out where ACF views is looking. the path is

    /var/www/vhosts/chimesmusicdigital.com/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/ProductImages/acf-views

and it shouldn’t be there. Of course that folder isn’t writeable, it doesn’t exist. Can you tell me to to get it to reference the correct folder please?

Actually it appears there a quite a few folders now in the ProductImages folder that shouldn’t be there IMO. After all the folder is for exactly what it says.

    Hi @robpl1

I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing a permissions issue.

Advanced Views automatically creates a folder inside the “wp-content/uploads” directory called “acf-views”, so the final path would be “wp-content/uploads/acf-views” it’s this folder that needs write permissions.

I am not sure why you have a “ProductImages” folder, did you modify the CustomData?

Regarding the Validation error, you should go into your View to edit, then switch to the ‘Templates’ tab and then try to save again, any errors will appear close to the top of the “Custom Template” field. Note: if you made only a few changes to your Template, it’s usually faster to copy the Default Template into the Custom Template again, and make those changes you’d like.

Please let me know if this helps.
