Template files not accepting updates

  • Hello,

    I have been using an album template for years now, theme/neggstyles/album-myTemplate.php

    1) Now all of a sudden it stopped working! And the template was not being used. Turns out the template file can no longer contain upper/lowers?! changing the template file name to album-mytemplate.php fixes this issue. LAME.

    2) Any change made to the template does not take – the output does not change! However, if I rename the template file and change the shortcode to call the new template name the change is seen as expected, however then any subsequent change does not take affect. It’s as if NGG is caching the template file or something.. please stop this insanity!! Whats the point of a template if I can’t edit it?! Grr..

    @james Mehorter – This is very odd behavior as I am not seeing the same thing when I modify and or change templates … although I must be honest in saying I have not tested CamelCase template file names.

    You may need to clear your image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous to see changes immediately in some cases as well.

    Do you have any further details to what changed before you noticed your custom template not working as expected?
