  • I’ll be brief.

    My site launched exactly one week ago and is still a work in progress, but the issues are now small [trackbacks to be implemented, comments will NOT be used except for special occasions, and big font issues].

    The biggest problem at the moment is a font inconsistency between operating systems. That should be fixed in a week though, as I can hopefully decide which fonts to use for OSX and Linux.

    Please tell me what you like/dislike.

  • I′ll make it short: Great design – no prize for usability.
    If I disable images, there is no navigation and I can′t change font-size in IE.

    But I think you know your readers and it′s a personal blog so it′s probably okay.

    Thanks. Do many people actually browse with images disabled? I will have to deal with the font size problem

    I like the design as well.

    Beautiful design – however I’ll have to agree with the navigation. Even the image doesn’t make it all that clear to someone who doesn’t spend the time to look for it – and it’s a proven fact that people will spend .33 seconds or so looking at your site before they decide whether or not to continue or close out of it.

    Annnnd – if you’re concerned at all about SEO and how search engines view your site in terms of ranking it in the listings – you’ll need text links.

    Maybe even if you shortened the number of posts on the index page, and then included the links in your footer… SOMETHING, you know?

    Outside of that, the design is breathtaking. I’m jealous!

    Thank you all for the comments and responses. I’m very flattered. Look at me blush!

    Thank you to ladydelaluna and Evita for the navigational comments. I will have to nab your ideas and I plan to add extra links to the footer. It’ll be small, but it’ll be there. I’ll also add a very subtle mouseover to the links, but that’ll take me a bit longer to put in because I’ll actually have to slice and dice the image files now.

    Oh, and I’ll shorten the index page as requested, lady.

    (I can’t wait until Christmas and special events, when I can toy with the layout. For example, I may put a candy cane in place of the pencil during Christmas and some alcohol in place of the coffee durnig New Years ?? )
