?tegory%/%postname% not working in perkalinks

actually, I ‘ve just noticed that even without the %category% tag, my links are broken. I checked, it’s able to update my .htacess file.

Only 1.3 updates the .htaccess file itself. Prior to that, you have to update it your self.

I figured that out (but i /am/ using 1.3) It eventually worked. Although, %category% does not. Can it be used in the permalinks?

Also, is there a way I can have it so that “category” is *not* shown in my category perkalinks? I have them in categories 2005, Films Documentaries but I just want the URI to be https://www.reelidentities.org/2005/films/ documentaries/film-title instead of https://www.reelidentities.org/category/2005/films/ documentaries/film-title

%category% can be used in permalinks, but /%category%/%postname%/ causes problems. I just committed some code that should allow this structure.

interesting. after you do that do you just chmod your .htaccess file non-writable, to prevent WP from overwriting it?

I tried it, didn’t work for me.

I ran into the same problem. It appears that WP calls posts in different ways. I fixed this by including year/month/day in the URLs. No problems since then.
