• OK–I need to move my WP site from Host A to Host B.
From the previous comments, you have to have WP installed on the receiving side. Can I upload a backed-up file to the new server, or will this plugin walk me through the steps to do FTP?
    Thanks, Kevin

Old host sends them to the new host. Not the other way around. After successfully transferring your backup files to your new host, you should open Migration Assistant and select the Restore option.

Did you read the documentation provided with the plugin?

There is none on your home page and the link my developer gave me led me to your wordpress plugin page which had nothing either. I would have read it if it were available.
So it’s the PW for the old host we put into the new host migration manager page, correct?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

There is. At the end of this page: https://www.mertyazicioglu.com/projects/wordpress-move/

You can download WordPress Move from WordPress Plugin Directory or fork/watch it on GitHub. Online documentation is also available.

Not only the documentation is available online, the plugin itself comes with the documentation. It is under the docs directory.

    Let me try once more:

    1. You start migration on your old host.
    2. Transfer the backup files manually, if the FTP connection failed.
    3. Open the Migration Assistant on your new host and select the Restore option.
    4. Click the button to complete the migration.

There is no password entrance involved on the new host.

Hi; Thanks for that info. I’ll drill down and take a look so not to bother you.
But, at the top of the Migration Assistant page on the new host, it does ask for the FTP password, but does not indicate for the old host or new host.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

You need to click the Begin button under the Restore box, when you open the Migration Assistant, not the one under the Migrate box.

OK, but the info at the top of the heading says use this if you want to change the domain name. It leads you to the next page which asks you to change the name of your site (without any type of file import/etc.)
I don’t want to do that.
I want to import/migrate our site.
See, kind of confusing if you don’t read the instructions.
I will look them over and if I have any other questions, will repost.
I did see where my developer asked you a question about the plugin Shopp and importing images. If you can let him know what you find out, that would be great as I’m not going to import anything until I know all the data is coming over.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

It does not say anything like that. It says:

If you wish to do one or more of the following…

? Complete migrating to this server.
? Restore backup files listed under the Current Backups section of the Backup Manager.

    Here is a screenshot.

Nope, you’re correct, I had the wrong box.
So, it goes to where it asks for the files to be transferred.
I need to read the documentation as the I believe I’m missing a piece of the puzzle, i.e. files have not been transferred and WP Move is not a part of the file structure from which to choose files.
I also need to know if this plugin will copy the Shopp images over (answer pending on the support forum).
    Thanks,
    Kevin

OK; Can’t find the video on GitHub, but read the docs, and went back into WP admin of export host. Drilling down into Migration menu, cannot find WordPress Move directory to choose backup files to export.
    Advice?

OK, having problems with accessing the correct files. This is one reason why we’re moving hosts. TMD is not very WordPress happy. Since we’re moving the whole site to the new host, would it be harmful to move ALL the files via migration to the new host? Are there any known plugin conflicts with your plugin and caching programs, etc.?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Kevin
