Teaser in feed?

So I finally learnt the difference between teasers, manual and automatic excerpts.

Now I learn that my feed can only contain an automatic excerpt, as if no teaser exists?

Is there a way to have the teaser appear in the feed instead of a 55 word summary? I don’t understand why the disconnect here.
