Team/Player records

  • First off, Great plugiin from what I have seen so far. I am curious if it is at all possible to automatically have stats from a game or player career be featured in a “Franchise record” section. So for example if a player scores six goals in a game for a team it automatically caries over to example “Most goals by a player in a game” record would now show “6” and the player who scored them / date of the game/ opponent/ etc. Make sense?

    @hockeyguy1925 That makes perfect sense, and is a great idea! The current version of the plugin does not do this, however we will look into developing this functionality, possibly as a pro feature.

    Thanks for taking time to consider. I believe it will be a great addition. I would also like to suggest that for seasons adding regular season and post season options – so for example 2014-15 season you could add stats for regular season and playoffs.

    Also, while the wheels are turning – thinking of option to add trades between teams, draft status with year, round drafted, overall draft pick number (say for example 1st overall.

    One more question…on the front end of site is it possible to add select boxes? So if I created a page called results would I be able to have a select box that the user would be able to select the season and it pull up 2014-15 results for example? Or results vs a particular team?

    @hockeyguy1925 Wondering if creating a child season would suffice for this. To create a child season, select the main season (example: 2014-15) as the “Parent” when adding a new season. That way, they will be grouped together but the statistics will be calculated separately.

    Trades/drafts also sounds like an interesting feature. We’ll definitely consider adding these down the road as well.

    We have been in talks about adding tabs or select boxes to switch between different sets of data in pages and widgets. The idea isn’t finalized yet but I’ll keep you posted ??

    Thanks for idea on regular/post seasons – that will work. I have a lot of ideas for this plugin – mainly for Hockey but I’m sure most could be incorporated for other sports. Would you like me to open up a new thread? List them here? Email you directly?

    I’m too wondering if it is possible to add a playoff option. Not for stats, I want the same stats but instead of a table an option for a playoff bracket.

    Like now in the World Cup; the stats continue from the group stage to the playoff.

    @efraim3000 Knockout cups / playoff brackets have been a popular request, and we are currently developing a solution for this as a pro feature. We’re aiming to release at the middle of this month. I’ll keep you posted ??
