Just to double-check, did you disable all your plugins (but SportsPress) and tried a default theme? Because this would bring your WP site to a blank state, so if it isn’t working now it may be a server-related issue.

Yes I did all as suggested above, but the result is still the same (in addition I tried it with the themes Rookie and twentyseventeen).
What could be a possible server-related issue ?

@4clemente let us know if you have this disabled. It’s worth checking how it works if you disable, save, then enable and save again just to be sure.
