We are using Complianz – Terms and Conditions 1.2.7 on WP 6.3.1. The PDF download option used to work, but we are now seeing a 404 error message.

    Here are the details:

At the bottom of our T&C-generated page
    https://lbmdaily.com/terms-and-conditions

Selecting download from Item 26. “You can also?download?our Terms and Conditions as a PDF.”

    generates the following error:

Error 404 – Page not found
The page you were looking for, was not found.

We have enabled PHP error display and are seeing this:

Warning: Attempt to read property “ID” on null in /home/jbkjmmjdboh1/public_html/lbmdaily.com/wp-content/themes/disruptpress/functions.php on line 2738

This file in the directory is readable:
    lbmdaily.com/wp-content/plugins/complianz-terms-conditions/readme.txt

So does not appear to be a security restriction. Disabling all plugins the error persists.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @worldtel,

Could you check if the download.php file is present (instead of readme.txt) in the /wp-content/plugins/complianz-terms-conditions/ folder on your end?

I’ve just installed the plugin on a new testing website, but I can’t seem to replicate the described issue here.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @jarnos,

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes the download.php file is located in the /wp-content/plugins/complianz-terms-conditions/

    Kind regards, Jason

    Hi @worldtel,

The file is present and has the expected permissions, so there is probably another factor involved on your environment, and affects whether the file can be opened.

As you’ve noted that it used to work, that seems to indicate that a change has occurred at some point which stopped it from working.

For example, this could be a security plugin or setting that was configured after the T&C plugin was already enabled, and stops the download from working as a result. Those are the first things that I would recommend checking, i.e. by disabling plugins temporarily, one-by-one, to check at which point it starts working again.

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @jarnovos,

I had previously disabled all plugins without success, but going one by one, I was able to isolate the issue as originating from the Really Simple SSL plugin. Disabling this plugin allowed the file to download.

Interestingly re-enabling the Really Simple SSL plugin does not replicate the error. Seems like some kind of caching error with the plugin’s settings. At any rate, the issue is resolved.

    Thank you,
    Jason R
