I can’t figure out how to use the [tb_google_map] short code to insert a map into my post(s). I enter a valid address into the field provided, insert [tb_google_map] into the post, and publish/update the post but the address disappears from the field and nothing appears in the post or the My Maps Location sidebar widget. I’m running Firefox 18.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.7.5 and TravelBlogger 1.6. Any ideas? The addresses are good (I’ve even tried your samples!).

    Thanks in advance …

There must be a bug that is happening again… this could have been through the latest WordPress update, I will have our developer take a look at this. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, thank you for your patience.

Is there any update for this? I’m also having the same problem. I really love the Travel Blogger theme mostly because of the automatic tagging of posts on a homepage map widget.

I really hope that this could be fixed soon, or at least with WordPress 3.7.

Can you confirm that this problem is being investigated?

@enduro: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic.

    Hi Enduro,

At the risk of angering the forum goddess I can tell you that the only workaround I found was to use raw lat/lon values instead of plain language street addresses, city names, etc. My guess based on troubleshooting my site is that the blank spaces found in the physical addresses aren’t parsed correctly – by using the raw lat/lon those spaces are eliminated.

    Good luck!

Sorry esmi, I saw no reason to as this thread was not marked resolved and was the most current topic still.

Thanks FoothillsInno. I’ll try that. Can you provide an example of how you formatted the entry?

Edit: I typed “46.184585,-123.831764” into the “Enter Address Related to Post” with no spaces and still didn’t get anything. It just disappears when I press Update or Publish. Oh well. WP 3.7 doesn’t seem to be fixing the problem, either.

    Enduro,

To be honest I finally gave up on Travel Blogger for a number of reasons. I customized another theme to meet my needs and installed a plug-in (Comprehensive Google Map) that offered an auto-generating map mashup feature. Here’s the link to the result :

Wow, what buggy forum software. Let’s try that link again.

Thanks for the help. I bookmarked that plug-in the other day. My site isn’t going live for a couple months yet, so I’m going to continue and hope it gets fixed.

Great looking site, by the way. Like how clean the design is.
