There is an old plugin called Query Multiple Taxonomies, which is no longer supported by the author. But he did suggest a few replacements.

One of the problems with combining taxonomies is the handling of the title to show all that is requested. WordPress will only provide the first object type, so it’s a little misleading.

But in general, you would use query variables, not permalink structures. For example, https://website.com/?special_trait=fighter&card_type=battle_card

    Hi Joy,

    Thank you for your response.

ill just go ahead and use my actual archive URL for my site as I am still struggling with this.

    https://dbscardwiki.com/card_type/battle-card/
    and
    https://dbscardwiki.com/special_trait/frieza-clan/

i am trying to create a Wikipedia for a trading card game and wish to be able to make linked suggestions on the different cards.
they need to be dynamic as new cards come out fairly regularly, here is what i tried based on your previous response.

    https://dbscardwiki.com/?special_trait=frieza-clan&card_type=battle-card

The above only seems to return cards under special_trait/frieza-clan
Do you put this in the URL bar like normal or did i mistype something?

If it is meant to be put in the URL bar the other thing i noticed is when i create a link with the text editor its not clickable

Again thank you for any help, i had read previous similar articles you have responded too but none of them quite gave me the answers i was looking for.

As for the mentioned plugin would that allow me to make links that could just be clicked in a post/page?

Well, no, it shows the one entry that matches both variables.
But as I mentioned, WordPress will only make the title with the first object, so it’s misleading.

I don’t understand your question about URL bar or link. A URL is the way to get to a page, and is used in a link in content.

The mentioned plugin and its successors provide a widget so that a visitor can interactively select the multiple taxonomies. In your case, you can simply link to the pages in your content.

    Hi Joy,

Yes I think I have got it now, upon reviewing my previous attempts i mistyped, the above works exactly like i wanted.

I am sorry for my poorly worded response i often re read my replies to the point i think i just make them less clear lol.

Thank you Joy, you have saved me a lot of headaches.
