We noindexed taxonimies (Search Appearance > taxonomies) by setting “Show in search results” to “no” and checking the box for “noindex” in the “Advanced”-Tab. But the taxonomies are still indexed. Is there a trick so that the taxonomies are really no longer indexed?

    Hi @mreuss,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Could you tell me if you set both Categories and Tags to noindex in Search Appearance > Taxonomies?

Could you share a page URL that is supposed to be set to noindex based on those settings?

The No Index in the Advanced settings for categories and tags should have automatically been set when the Show in Search Results was set to NO.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thanks!

    Hi @subiewrx,

Yes, both Categories and Tags to are set to noindex in Search Appearance > Taxonomies.

An example page URL, that should be set to noindex is the following: https://www.roxtra.com/blog/tag/agil/

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi @mreuss,

Thanks for sharing the page URL. In checking the page source code, there’s a noindex tag present – https://a.supportally.com/i/7BWsL5

You’ll need to wait until Google crawls the site again to update the index status for those pages.

You can check for noindex by right-clicking on any page, then select – View page source. Then look for the robots tag.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi @subiewrx,

thanks a lot for your answer.
Is there any possibility to noindex authors on our page via AIOSEO as well?

    Hi @mreuss,

    You’re welcome!

You can set noindex for Author Archives in All in One SEO > Search Appearance > Archives. Then set Show in Search Results to No.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!
