Taxonomies as collections

Hello,
I would like to propose an enhancement about the core plugin. There should be a way to create a new collection based on a taxonomy, and not just post types.
For example, the posts category could be indexed on a new collection with these fields:
– Name
– Description
– Thumbnail
– Permalink

Thank you for the suggestion, we made a decision to omit Taxonomies as we believe, most people would use instant search or autocomplete to search for the document/post_type
Can you please give me a use case for when you would search for taxonomies.
