Hey, I want to show products tax inclusive to my customers to prevent a drop off at checkout because of unexpected costs, but the prices of variable products are shown wrong, taxes are calculated double.

So for example, let’s say I’ve got a variable product:
    Color 1 – Grey – 19.99 (excl tax) – 24.19 (incl tax)
    Color 2 – Green – 19.99 (excl tax) – 24.19 (incl tax)

This price should be shown on the product page.

Now the issue is that on the product page it show 29.27, which is an additional tax on the 24.19, its, calculating double tax.

Please I need a fix for this ASAP, thank you.

    Sebastian

    Hi @sebastainvdn,

I had a look at your site and added a product (Samsung Case – Dragon – Samsung Galaxy S10 ) to the basket. On the checkout additional VAT tax is not being added as you can see here:

Can you clarify for which product/s is this happening? Also, could you please send us screenshots of your tax settings so we can investigate this further?

I recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this chat.

    Thanks!

Hi yes that’s because I disabled taxes, I enabled them again so you can check it out.

    These are the settings:

Also I use geolocation (maxmind) to determine where the customer is visiting from, you can use https://proxysite.com to visit from a EU server so you can see the taxes applied.

If you check out the tofu press for example (https://thebgang.com/shop/tofu-press), you will see that the price is 29.27 tax included.

But when you add it to the cart, you’ll see 24.19 (this is the right price). On the product detail page it is adding double VAT, but when adding to cart it shows correctly.

    Hi @sebastainvdn,

I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue as you probably have disabled taxes. However, checking your tax options I’ve noticed it shows on top “Automated taxes” which I don’t have on my tax settings on the core WooCommerce. So, this is typically added by another plugin.

From what you describe then, this behavior is likely caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. Read more about plugin and theme conflicts in our Self-Service Guide.

For more detailed instructions about conflict testing, check out this – How to test for plugin and theme conflicts.

Please let us know how that goes.

    Thanks.

Hi @rainfallnixfig , taxes are still enabled but depending on where you are visiting from, taxes will be added or not.

That’s why you should be using a proxysite.com to visit from a EU server. Use this link to visit the shop from the EU:
    https://eu4.proxysite.com/process.php?d=aH%2FQJA8AMztyFBZUBl70bYSW75SsXQ%3D%3D&b=1

If you use a US server you will see different price.

I can confirm this is not an issue with any of the plugins I have on my site.

Let me know if you can reproduce it.

    Cheers, Sebastian

    Hi @sebastainvdn,

    Thanks for the additional information.

Indeed, I was able to verify that the price displayed on the Product page is different from the one displayed on the cart and I’ve taken a screenshot here.

This is a bit strange behaviour. Does the same happen when you only have the core WooCommerce plugin active? Can you please deactivate all other plugins except WooCommerce and let me know if it still happens?

For more detailed instructions about conflict testing, check out this – How to test for plugin and theme conflicts.

    Thanks!
