I’m having problems with tax rounding on Flexible Shipping on the Cart page.

I would like the price the cost pays to be £7.95 including tax. I’m based in the UK, so it’s VAT @ 20%.
Despite having my settings set up as “Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax” in the Settings section, the “Cost per order” section of Flexible Shipping is excluding tax. I’ve entered £6.625 but the result shown on the cart page (including tax) is £7.96.

I think it’s rounding up £6.625 to £6.63, which it then adds 20% tax to, to make £7.956, which it then rounds up to £7.96.

    Any suggestions anyone?

  • Hello!

Have you tried changing that setting in Tax configuration? https://wpde.sk/po/op2z7n8nblrx.png

If it doesn’t bring help, you will need to permanently change the Tax setting to “No, I will enter prices exclusive of tax”: https://wpde.sk/po/opbdwzokntpk.png It is the only way to have correct tax values in WooCommerce.

    Regards!

I notice the same behavior. In my WooCommerce general Tax Settings, all my prices are tax including, but with Flexible Shipping I must enter the shipping cost free of tax. I manage to get around.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve tried changing the setting in Tax Configuration, but it doesn’t make any difference to how it calculates the rounding of the shipping.

If I enter prices exclusive of tax, how will it calculate the inclusive tax prices correctly?

How did you manage to ‘get around’ @pozhonks ?

Okay, so WooCommerce does always treat the shipping price you enter in the configuration as net price. The same is with the shipping price both in Flat rate and Flexible Shipping – they are always net prices. This is how WooCommerce works. Changing the setting in Tax Configuration (enter prices exclusive of tax) will not change this behavior.

The correct price will only be shown at the checkout if you disable using of taxes in your shop. When the shipping tax is active, then WooCommerce calculates the tax and not always does it how we prefer – it is a matter of rounding.

@avanorhealthcare , please enter this price as net shipping price in Flexible Shipping: 6.62499999999999

WooCommerce will add 20% tax and round it up. The effect will be 7,95 as the shipping price.
