Hello, I am having trouble with a new tax rate. I am trying to set it up to
    – only apply to edible products
    – only apply to MN shipping addresses (but not apply to shipping costs)
    – be applied in addition to standard MN tax rates

When I added the tax class as a new rate, initially it saves properly. Then when I navigate back to the tax rate, it has been overwritten. Please advise.

Can anyone advise me here? A law requiring this additional tax went into effect on 7/1 so I need to resolve this ASAP.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

I understand that the tax rate is overwritten. Apologies for the delay in responding as we are receiving a high ticket volume on all of our queues.

From your description, it sounds like there’s an issue with the way tax is saved and then applied when you check back later. This doesn’t sound like intended behavior.

Firstly, please ensure that all your settings have been inputted correctly. The tax should only be applied to edible products, so check that these items are properly categorized in your inventory. One alternative solution to this model is to create a tax class, more info: https://woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/#additional-tax-classes

If the information still overwrites itself, this may indicate an issue with the system, I’d suggest running a conflict test to help you find the cause of the issue, https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Let us know how that goes for you.
