    Hello,

I have read about how tax is handled in this plugin and have previously used older version of the plugin with tax as a specific shortcode attribute. Now, it seems to be handled inside paypal instead.

Using PayPal tax does not fit my customer since it disables the correct amount to be showed in the shopping cart – it shows without tax.

I wanted to include the old tax handling system with a specific tax handling per product again, so I added this and created a patch. Please let me know if there is an easier way to get the taxed amount to show directly in the shopping cart of this plugin. I could not find a way.

Feel free to include this patch if you want to – I don’t see any reason to remove this functionality as it enables the users of this plugin to choose which tax handling system to use.

    Download patch from:

Hi joakimahlen have you enabled that feature in your PayPal account? Have you also enabled the following option in the plugin Use PayPal Profile Based Shipping?

    Hello,

I do not want to use PayPal based shipping so this option should not be checked. This issue is regarding tax, not shipping. Also, there is no code in the shopping cart php file whatsoever to display tax, so it would not have helped anyway.

I also found a bug in shipping calculations – it seems if you don’t add a shipping cost to each item, the base shipping cost is never applied which it should. Let me know if you want more information.

I would like to know your thoughts on re-adding support for calculating tax like this. For me it works with a patched version, but it would be nice to not have to apply the patch again when updating the plugin next time. I am not sure if there would be any specific reason not allow this kind of tax calculation since it doesn’t stop you from using PayPal profile based shipping anyway.
