Tax Exempt Products with Variations are taxed

I have a set of products that are tax exempt. Those products that have variations are being set with a tax on checkout. I figured out that the variations for those products are not set to tax exempt.

Is there an easy way to set them all to be tax exempt without having to edit each variation individually?

It would be great if the tax exempt for the variations was set the same as the product by default.
