Tax doesnt show when logged out

Often if something works as expected when logged in but doesn’t when logged out, it’s because of caching. Many caching systems are disabled if the user is logged in.

Make sure the cart, checkout, and account pages are all excluded from caching. If that doesn’t work, try disabling all caching on the site, even the web host’s caching if they have any, and then test again.

Let us know what you find out.

I tried disabling all caching and plugins on my staging site, but unfortunately tax still won’t show up if you are logged out.

And I set the default location for customers to be the shop location, so that’s not the problem either.

Gotcha. Automated taxes are only set by the customer’s shipping address. Until that is entered, we wouldn’t expect any taxes to be shown even if the default location is set to the shop’s base address.

Once you enter an address for the customer does the tax amount update?

Ok, it does seem to now work when the whole address is put in.
