Targeting Posts but popups on archive and search

    I have a pop up targeted to Posts, but the pop up triggers on archives and search result pages. Targeting for the pop up is set to ‘all posts’ option in dropdown

    I have debug on and the default 2021 theme active at the moment. You can see the debugger running and indicating pop ups where there should not be (imo)

    Any idea on settings to check or how to limit to just posts?

    Hi @floatingline, thanks for writing in to us!

    Basically, if you want to set a popup on a specific blog posts or single posts then you will need to set the Targeting Condition to Posts: Selected and on the input field just select the specific blog post. This way, the popup will only be displayed on that blog post.

    You can also set a targeting condition of Posts: ID.

    @mariatogonon Thank you and thank you for the response in FB group as well.

    I am trying to NOT show a pop up on Archive pages. The Tag and Cateogry, and other custom post types, are the settings I needed to toggle off.

    So to match all posts, but not archives, looks like this –

    Posts All (Selected)
    –AND–
    Category All (selected & toggle ! red)
    –AND–
    Tags All (selected & toggle ! red)

    The targeting settings are correct:

    Posts All (Selected)
–AND–
Category All (selected & toggle ! red)
–AND–
Tags All (selected & toggle ! red)

    It will not display the popups for Category and Tag.

    We think there’s a possible conflict with your theme or another plugin.

    Can you try the following for us?

    1. Temporarily deactivate your third-party plugins, and switch the theme to WordPress Twenty Twenty-Two.
    2. Clear out any browser, WordPress, server, database, and CDN caches you have.
    3. Retest using a private or incognito window with no active browser extensions.

    Hey @floatingline,

    I just visited your site. It looks like everything is working for me. I see the START 14-DAY TRIAL popup (8233) only on blog posts.

    I don’t see that popup (after clearing cookies) on the following:

    – Category archive pages
    – Tag archive pages
    – Search results page

    Did you figure it out or did we miss something else you’re asking about?
