Target of link in Serious slider does not work

Hi

In each slide I have the possibility to place an ahref. So I did.

It also gives the option to target it to new page.
I don’t want the link to open in a new page, so I choose default.

Yet is keeps opening an new page. The html shows the target stays “_blank”

So I thought maybe my theme is somehow overriding the A href and puts them all to _blank. That could be.
I searched for some sort of Slider.php where I can make an href to _blank on default. But didn’t find a slider.php file.

Can you help making the ahref on/in the slider open in same page (_self)
