target by URL not working. Inconsistent

please can someone help. I have no idea whats going on and why some excludes work others refuse to….

@brucemacg Try removing the trailing slash from the first list of visibility rules like so:

*/inflatable-boat-tube/*

However, that doesn’t explain why the second set of rules work as expected.

Could that be that the whole sidebar is somehow hidden or configured to not display through some kind of theme option for the */inflatable-boat-tube page?

I’m marking this as resolved since this appears to be an integration issue than an actual bug in the plugin.

FWIW we are experiencing the exact same issue. We would like a widget to appear on one child page of a parent with many children. We used “Show on Selected” + Target by URL (tried with the slug *series/amazon and with the full url) + Exclude by URL, with the URL of every single other child of the */series/* page that the widget should not appear on. The widget appears everywhere.

If the plugin worked, it would be exactly what we need.

I still use the plugin but far less, as I’m now using other filters which mostly replace this functionality..

However, Widget context works 100% on my normal site i.e.
https://www.watersportswarehouse.co.za
It’s inconsistent on my staging site though
staging.watersportswarehouse.co.za

Haven’t found out why, but a really useful plugin, just a bit frustrating…

@kasparsd After I saw your example above, I got the plugin to work immediately. How might we improve the instructions/example below the input field IN the plugin to make this same information more clear?
