There are a couple of issues:
- The call from your hosting server to Google is taking time. Until that call completes, your hosting server will not be able to generate your page’s content, and so it will not load. Photonic offers a capability called JavaScript load mode (Photonic → Settings → Generic Options → Advanced → Loading mode), but that will not work for slideshows (it works for all other types of layouts).
- You also seem to be pulling a large number of photos at a high resolution. This is bound to increase the time it takes for your browser to load. Again, apart from changing the main image size, there is not much you can do here when you are using a slideshow, but if you are using a different layout (like Justified Grid), you can use a Photonic concept called “Tile image size” to get a smaller image for your gallery, and leave the bigger image for the lightbox.
Ultimately, it is the slideshow layout that is causing the slowdown for you, since you are unable to use the JavaScript load mode. Also, good design practices generally dictate that slideshows don’t have many photos. In your case, your slideshow has 100 photos, which is higher than recommended limits.
