Takes a long time to process / send | Users click multiple times

    Updated to the latest version 4.6 recently. Since then the forms need about 5 seconds or longer to be sent. The user doesn’t see any progress and will usually click multiple times which introduces many problems because we’re using one of the forms with an affiliate system.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Where can I see the site? What is the affiliate system and how do you use it?

    The site is https://eta24.de .
    The affiliate system is the “Affiliates Pro” plugin by “itthinx” and it works by submitting one hidden field value. But it doesn’t have anything to do with the affiliate system because the simple contact form (without affiliate field) shows exactly the same super slow behavior. It really takes 5 to 10 seconds until the user sees progress.

    Try switching to the default theme (twentysixteen or twentyseventeen).

    Tried deactivating all plugins and even switched the theme to Twenty Seventeen. It still takes close to 10 seconds until the user can see any progress of the form submission.

    The very strange thing is that I actually receive the email message sent before I can see any submission progress on the screen.

    I really don’t know what else to try anymore. Feel free to check it out with the simple contact form (“ETA24 kontaktieren”).

    And it only started with the latest updates of Contact Form 7 and WP 4.7 (I did both on the same day).
    I appreciate any help I can get.
