Taken To The Bottom Of The Screen When Editing Posts

    Not sure whether anyone can help with this, but this only started occuring a month ago, and I believed that this would probably get fixed with the recent update. However this is now proving very annoying.

    These are the steps which occur when I wish to add/edit a post:

    1. Click on “Add Post” link to create a new post;

    2. Page appears to load fine at first but once it’s fully loaded, the screen immediately jumps to the bottom of the page. No matter how many times I try to scroll up to the top to add an image or add a post title, the scrollbar refuses to respond.

    I can only do this by holding down the Shift key and repeatedly hitting the Tab key. Then I can scroll up, but the same happens again when the page is refreshed.

    Am I the only person experiencing this?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Hi Esmi,

    Thanks for your suggestion and sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately I deactivated all plugins but this did not have any effect.

    Switching to the Twenty Twenty had no effect either.

    Is this not happening with anyone else?

    Sorry…scrap my last post. It looks like something has resolved itself somehow. Thanks for looking into this for me ??
