Tags sitemap error

The error seems to come from somewhere else. Do you see related errors in the server error log file?

BTW, the response seems to come from Cloudflare. It may be best to exclude sitemap responses from cloudflare under the Page Rules with a rule like /sitemap*.xml

I’m not familiar with it either (just read in the cloudflare support somewhere this should be possible) but maybe try just sitemap*.xml there without the domain name?

In any case, I see a new error now in the response source:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted

This does indicate there is a problem with memory size when generating the tags sitemap. You said you have more than 10k tags, which does seem like a lot…

I’d need to revisit the taxonomy sitemap generation routines to see if there is more streamlining and efficiency improvements to be made. Until, then: is there a possibility for you to allow more PHP memory on the server? No idea how much would be enough in your case though.

maybe in a future update you should split the tag sitemap by 1000 items (for news site like mine whit lots of categories and tags.. like yoast are doing.
