tags showing up in new pages

  • Hi – again…
    I am creating new pages but the date and category are showing up at the top of the page as if it were a post.

    I have not been able to find answer to this problem. Any ideas?

  • Did you make a separate page.php template? If not, then it would default to the main index.php and any tags shown there would show on pages as well.

    You should just be able to copy the index.php, remove the tags you don’t want and then name it page.php and upload it into your theme folder.

    Ok, I’m not as smart as I thought I was.
    I created the page.php – I could at least manage that!
    How do I tell WP to use page.php for the Pages i’m creating, rather than use index.php?

    UPDATE:
    Ok, there must be something (somethingELSE!) I don’t know, cuz WP automagically used page.php. I guess I should look up default heirarchy?
