Tags link nowhere

  • Hello there!

    so I have a Website
    I would like to use tags as a means for navigation.
    Sadly, the tags stopped working. They link nowhere (you can find the tags in the footer).
    My permalinks are setup via postname, category base is Kategorie, tag base is tag.
    It’s really weird.
    I am very thankful for any help or ideas!

    Hope you are doing great!

    Do you have any posts where you’ve used the tags?

    When I click on those tag links they took me to a 404(No post found where the tag is X) page.

    If those tags are not assigned to any post then it’s the expected behavior.

    But if they are assigned to any post then something is wrong. It could be a caching issue. If you use any caching plugin, please try to clear the cache.

    Also, from your WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalink, click on the Save Changes button without making any changes on the page, it will automatically flush WordPress rewrite rules.

    Hey Sharif,

    thanks for the very nice reply.

    I use the tags for episodes (could it be an issue that episodes are not a standard format in wp?)
    But, for example, I have used the “AI” tag on this episode -> /podcast/satan-beschworen/
    So clicking on AI down in the footer should lead somewhere, not only to a 404.
    Saving permalink setting changes sadly doesn’t help either.

    Very confused about all of this,
    would appreciate any ideas or help.
