• Most programs on internet that provides photosharing has this type of tags [img]https://i.imgur.com/JcagW87.jpg[/img] but they don’t work in wordpress that uses <img> tags.

Or are there anyway to change that?

  • Hi Mike,

Can you please point me to a page that uses the [img] tag ? Also, could you please elaborate a little on what you are trying to achieve using WordPress?

    Thanks,
    Tanveer

WordPress uses HTML. More information about the IMG-tag, https://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_img.asp

I use them in my blog where I blog about my photos: https://www.mickesei.se/bloggat/

    Hi Mike,

That’s great but which website do you see [img] tag?

Which ever website uses HTML, should be using the <img> tag. I have still not seen the browser render [img] tag.

What doesn’t work for you if you have the <img> tag?

It is when I use imgur.com to get a code to past in my blogs, because I don’t want the pics to be on my webhotel and take space. As it is now I have to get the [img]http and so on code and paste it on Note++ then cut the image link and past it into the img box in wordpress.

Ok, so I partially understand your issue. Do you think your current workflow would be easier if you tried using the wp-imgur plugin? This feeds the images directly from their server so it would not require you to save images on your server preserving server space.

More information about this plugin here:

Let me know if this would work for you.

    Thanks,
    Tanveer
